Great Wall Motor Thailand has completed a major fleet delivery by handing over 33 GWM TANK 500 DIESEL 2.4T 2026 four-wheel-drive SUVs to Thailand’s Royal Irrigation Department. The vehicles will be used as inspection SUVs for field surveys, water-management duties, and public-support operations across the country.

The delivery passed the department’s TOR inspection process, underlining confidence in the vehicle’s capability and GWM’s aftersales support. GWM and GWM Iconic Ramintra also provided product and driving-technology training for officials before the vehicles entered service.

GWM TANK 500 DIESEL 2.4T 2026 technical highlights
The GWM TANK 500 DIESEL 2.4T 2026 4WD is powered by a 2.4-liter variable-geometry turbo-diesel engine producing 184 horsepower at 3,600 rpm and 480 Nm of torque from 1,500 to 2,500 rpm. It is paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission tuned for towing and off-road driving.
The SUV features an All-Terrain Control System, front and rear electric differential locks, and TANK Turn for tighter maneuvering in difficult terrain. Its body-on-frame platform and high-strength steel construction are aimed at heavy-duty use, while the three-row, seven-seat cabin supports staff and field equipment.

For fleet customers, GWM Fleet Solution includes new-car warranty coverage, 24-hour roadside assistance, and scheduled maintenance packages through GWM Partner Stores nationwide.

Bangkok Motorhaus Perspective
This 33-unit delivery is a strong marketing and fleet-market proof point for GWM. Government fleet tenders are usually strict about TOR requirements, cost efficiency, durability, and field capability. For a Chinese body-on-frame SUV to enter this role, the vehicle needs to answer real operational needs rather than just showroom appeal.
The diesel move is also important. A 2.4-liter turbo-diesel engine with strong low-end torque is a better match for remote-area work, slope climbing, muddy terrain, and fuel logistics than a gasoline-hybrid positioning in many provincial government use cases.
The next challenge is aftersales execution. Government vehicles need low downtime, fast parts supply, and consistent service quality across provinces. If GWM Fleet Solution performs well in real field use, this delivery can become a case study that helps TANK 500 DIESEL challenge Thailand’s established PPV players more seriously.
