TOYOTA Continues Thammasat University Scholarship Program for 53rd Consecutive Year, Expanding TOYOTA GIVING 2026 Project

Mr. Nanthawat Sriwaratachkul, Assistant Managing Director of Toyota Motor Thailand Co., Ltd., along with the executive committee, participated in the scholarship award ceremony for Thammasat University students for the academic year 2026, held at Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus. Professor Dr. Supasawad Chardchawarn, Rector of Thammasat University, and the university's executive committee welcomed them. This initiative is part of the larger "TOYOTA GIVING: Driving Thailand Towards Sustainability" project, which has been continuously organized for 53 years, reflecting Toyota's steadfast commitment to contributing to the development of Thai society through establishing an educational foundation, a key factor in enhancing the quality of life and national growth.

Record of 53 Years of Cooperation and Support

Toyota has continuously implemented educational support programs for Thammasat University students since 1972 until the present year 2026, spanning over 53 years. A total of 1,046 scholarships have been awarded to students with excellent academic records and good conduct who lack financial resources, amounting to over 23,056,800 Baht in total support, to create equal opportunities for access to higher education and to prepare youth to become vital forces in industry and society in the future.

Details of the latest annual scholarship allocation

The total scholarships awarded for the academic year 2026 comprise 12 scholarships, amounting to a total value of 960,000 Baht per year. These scholarships are distributed comprehensively to students from 6 main faculties to foster academic diversity.

Social Strategy under the concept of TOYOTA GIVING 2026

This educational enhancement is part of Toyota's core social strategy under the 'TOYOTA GIVING: Moving Thailand Towards Sustainability' project, which encompasses the approach of delivering the value of giving across four main dimensions: namely, Health, Livelihood, Wisdom, and Education. The aim is for all scholarship students to utilize this knowledge to develop their potential, thereby driving Thai society towards sustainable long-term growth.

How does Bangkok Motorhaus view this?

The scholarship awarding ceremony for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities, as is customary for major automotive manufacturers, yet viewed strategically for brand building and long-term relationship management with leading institutions such as Thammasat University for over half a century, underscores Toyota's profound commitment to firmly establishing social capital in Thailand. In the modern automotive business landscape, which is being rapidly challenged by new electric vehicle manufacturers, particularly from China, what these emerging brands cannot quickly replicate to replace traditional market leaders, the Legacy OEMs, is the deep-seated bond as an organization integral to the local community.

The allocation of scholarships, with a strong emphasis on the Faculties of Engineering, Political Science, and various Social Sciences, constitutes a human engineering structure. This is because, in the future, graduates from these fields will grow to become personnel driving industry, public policy makers, or thought leaders in society. Building positive interactions from the educational level will naturally foster confidence and trust in the Toyota brand. Therefore, the TOYOTA GIVING 2026 policy does not merely serve as a donation for social assistance, but rather as a powerful soft power tool for maintaining the organization's strength and positive image amidst the transforming automotive battleground, moving towards carbon neutrality and intense competition.

Toyota's more than half-century-long marathon in building an educational foundation truly reflects the brand's image as being deeply intertwined with Thai society.
