LEPAS, a new new-energy vehicle brand under Chery Group, has announced its global strategy under the positioning Preferred Brand for Elegant Mobility Life and introduced the Intelligent LEX Platform 2026.

The new full-size architecture combines Spatial Intelligence with flexible powertrain capability and a five-star safety target, aiming to support a more premium mobility experience for the next era of NEVs.

Native Architecture for maximum cabin space

The Intelligent LEX Platform is developed as a future-ready foundation that addresses both interior space and driving performance. Its core packaging idea is to optimize the wheelbase-to-body ratio so that a larger exterior does not result in a cramped cabin.

Because the platform is built as a new energy-oriented architecture rather than adapted from combustion-engine roots, it can better free up cabin space and improve layout flexibility.

  • Full-Domain Ultra-Flat Floor Design reduces center-tunnel limitations and creates a more open cabin.
  • The second row is designed to seat three passengers more comfortably, with generous legroom for longer journeys.
  • The rear cargo area is designed for flexible lifestyles, including strollers, camping equipment, large luggage and travel with pets.

Modular platform and five-star safety target

Intelligent LEX Platform supports multiple powertrain paths, including hybrid systems and full battery-electric vehicles. Standardized battery packaging and integrated modular electric drive systems allow LEPAS to develop multiple vehicle types on one platform without sacrificing interior space or performance.

Safety is another core pillar. The platform uses a high proportion of high-strength steel and dedicated crash-energy management structures to protect the battery pack and passenger cell, with the goal of meeting a five-star Global NCAP safety standard.

Leopard Aesthetics design identity

LEPAS expresses its exterior identity through Leopard Aesthetics, inspired by agility and elegance. Key design cues include sharp V-shaped daytime running lights, a rounded grille with premium jewelry-inspired detailing and a full-width rear light bar.

Bangkok Motorhaus Perspective

Chery Group launch of LEPAS is a strategic move in the energy-transition era. While many Chinese brands compete on power figures or driving range, LEPAS is choosing a different route by highlighting Spatial Intelligence.

That directly addresses a real pain point for upper-family and younger executive buyers who do not want to feel cramped inside new-energy vehicles. The native architecture and Ultra-Flat Floor concept create more freedom for seat layout and space management than platforms adapted from combustion vehicles.

The next challenge is premium positioning. Buyers in higher price bands often have strong loyalty to established European brands. Shared Chery Group technology can be an advantage for cost and system stability, but LEPAS must prove through real models such as L6 or L8 that cabin materials, refinement and ride quality are clearly above mainstream products.

If the production models deliver the quality promised by the platform story, LEPAS could become a serious premium challenger from China.
