Honda City 2026 Thailand launch set for June 26 with new e:HEV V grade

Honda Automobile Thailand has confirmed that Honda City 2026 and Honda City Hatchback 2026 will officially launch in Thailand on Friday, June 26, 2026. The update brings a refreshed look, more youth-focused functions and a lineup that makes full-hybrid e:HEV technology easier to access.

Honda will host an exclusive launch activity for 100 invited participants at Outdoor Square B, CentralWorld, where guests can see the cars first and attend a mini concert by a Gen Z rapper presenter.

Registration is available through the LINE Official Account @honda-thailand from June 5-16, 2026. Honda will also livestream the launch ceremony and official price announcement at 1:15 p.m. through Honda Thailand online channels.

Sportier look and long-awaited equipment

Honda City 2026 gets a sportier appearance with a new grille, LED headlights across all grades and LED Connecting Light elements that run across the width of the front and rear sections. The facelift also adds clear-lens LED taillights and new alloy-wheel designs.

The cabin receives key convenience and safety upgrades, including Multi-View Camera System, a 10-inch Advanced Touch display with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Ambient Light, wireless phone charging and an auto-dimming rear-view mirror.

New powertrain strategy with e:HEV V

Honda is clearly shifting the City lineup toward e:HEV full-hybrid technology while reducing the role of the VTEC TURBO engine. Both the sedan and hatchback will offer four grades each.

The e:HEV full-hybrid range includes three grades: e:HEV RS as the sportiest top grade, e:HEV SV as the well-equipped upper-mid grade and the new e:HEV V as the entry hybrid grade designed to make e:HEV ownership more accessible.

The VTEC TURBO engine is now represented by the S grade only, focusing on value, agility and a more affordable entry point.

  • e:HEV RS top grade with the sportiest design and fullest equipment set
  • e:HEV SV upper-mid grade for daily-use technology and comfort
  • e:HEV V new entry hybrid grade for broader e:HEV access
  • S TURBO entry VTEC TURBO grade for value-focused buyers

New RS colors and booking campaign

Honda City 2026 adds new RS-family colors including Blazing Red Pearl and Urban Gray Pearl. The Honda City Hatchback 2026 e:HEV RS in Urban Gray also receives an exclusive black two-tone roof.

For the sedan e:HEV SV, Honda is adding a Platinum Gray cabin color option to create a more premium atmosphere.

Honda is accepting pre-booking registration until June 30, 2026, with a 5,000-baht fuel-card offer. Official booking is scheduled for July 1-31, 2026, and deliveries are planned from August 31, 2026 onward.

Bangkok Motorhaus Perspective

Honda’s move shows a clear shift toward electrified and hybrid products. Reducing the 1.0-liter VTEC TURBO lineup to the entry S grade while expanding e:HEV to three grades, including the new e:HEV V, pushes buyers who want mid-to-high equipment toward hybrid technology by default.

This is a lineup strategy Honda has already used effectively with models such as HR-V and Civic. The positive part is that Honda is finally adding equipment that customers have long requested, including 360-degree camera coverage through MVCS, a larger 10-inch wireless-connectivity display and Ambient Light.

Those features strengthen the City against B-segment rivals and Chinese EVs that often attract buyers with aggressive equipment lists. The Gen Z-focused launch at CentralWorld also helps move Honda City 2026 toward a fresher, more street-fashion image rather than a purely conventional city-car identity.

The key question on June 26 will be pricing, especially for the new e:HEV V. If Honda can position that grade lower than expected, Thailand city-car market in the second half of 2026 could become much more competitive.
