CHANGAN Thailand has officially launched the CHANGAN NEVO Q05 2026, a fully electric B-SUV positioned under the CHASING THE LIGHT concept for younger drivers and digital-era families. It is the second model built at Changan Automobile’s Rayong plant after the DEEPAL S05, supporting the brand’s Made in Thailand, Sold to the World strategy.
The launch also adds a strong lifestyle angle, with Billkin Putthipong Assaratanakul named as Thailand’s first CHANGAN NEVO Brand Presenter.

Exterior design and dimensions
The NEVO Q05 measures 4,435 mm long, 1,855 mm wide and 1,600 mm tall, with a 2,735 mm wheelbase and 170 mm of ground clearance. Rear luggage space is rated at 450 liters, with another 90 liters under the floor and up to 1,380 liters when the rear seats are folded.
The exterior was shaped under Klaus Zyciora, former global designer and design chief of CHANGAN Automobile, achieving a 0.265 Cd drag coefficient. Equipment includes automatic LED headlights and an LED through-light tail lamp. MAX uses 17-inch wheels, while ULTRA adds 18-inch wheels and a panoramic sunroof.
Body colors include Mercury Silver, Moonlight White and Deepspace Black for both variants, with Aurora Pink and Starlight Grey reserved for the ULTRA grade.

Cabin and technology
The cabin combines synthetic leather seats, a multifunction steering wheel, a 10.17-inch digital instrument display and a 14.6-inch center touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Voice control supports Thai and English in two zones, and the vehicle supports over-the-air software updates.
The MAX variant receives a four-speaker audio system. ULTRA upgrades to eight speakers, a 50-watt wireless phone charger, 256-color ambient lighting, ventilated front seats and Easy Entry & Exit.
Electric powertrain, battery and charging
Power comes from a single front-mounted permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 120 kW, or 163 hp, and 190 Nm of torque. The 0-100 km/h time is listed at 8.2 seconds, with top speed limited to 160 km/h and regenerative braking included.
The CATL-sourced LFP battery has a 51.9 kWh capacity and delivers up to 462 km of NEDC range. AC charging is rated at up to 6.6 kW, while the headline feature is 3C DC fast charging at up to 162 kW, enabling a 30-80% charge in 15 minutes. The ULTRA variant also adds V2L external power output.

Chassis and safety
The chassis uses MacPherson strut front suspension and a torsion beam rear setup, with electric power steering, a 5.3-meter minimum turning radius and four-wheel disc brakes. Safety equipment includes a 3D 360-degree camera, Transparent Chassis view, around-view video recording and ADAS driver assistance. The ULTRA variant adds extra active safety functions such as Emergency Lane Keeping.

Bangkok Motorhaus Perspective
CHANGAN is clearly using price as a weapon with the NEVO Q05. A starting point below 600,000 baht puts direct pressure on electric B-SUV rivals such as BYD Atto 3, MG S5 and ORA 5, while Thai production should help the brand manage cost, taxation and long-term market confidence.
The strongest technical hook is the 51.9 kWh CATL LFP battery fitted to both variants and the 162 kW 3C fast-charging capability. A 30-80% charge in 15 minutes is a premium-style convenience feature arriving in a mass-market price band, which could reset expectations for affordable EVs in Thailand.
The main point to watch is the torsion beam rear suspension, which may not feel as refined as some multi-link competitors on rough roads or during cornering. Changan’s service-network expansion will also matter. If aftersales support keeps pace with demand, NEVO Q05 could become a serious force in Thailand’s 2026 electric B-SUV market.
